My Journey

Hello,

I was first diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 38 years old.  It runs in my family. My mother and two of her sisters had breast cancer.  Two of them, the youngest and eldest have passed away.  I went through a mastectomy and chemotherapy. I was cancer free for 7 years and was diagnosed again. This time they had the test for HER2. I underwent another mastectomy and chemotherapy and herceptin treatments.  I also have been recently diagnosed with BRCA1.  I am waiting to see a specialist regarding a hysterectomy.  I just turned 49 in September and all I would like to share with women is not to lose hope and not to lose their spirit.  Fight with everything you have.
