| Hi, my journey began Jan 2006, that is when the shooting pain like someone stabbing me with a knife happen and not long after the lump. I ignored that lump in my right breast for months until I could not ignore it anymore. July 17th I will never forget that day, it was the first day of the rest of my life. I was 44 scared. I went to work and started calling with the help of friends to get an appointment for a mammogram. I went in the next day, they not only did a mammogram they also did an ultrasound. I left there with my next appointment within a week they were doing a biopsy. Needless to say I had surgery Sept 1. I was diagnosed with stage 2, ER+,PR+, HER2+ IDC, I got 6 months of Chemo, 6 weeks of radiation and 1 year of herceptin. They also removed my ovaries so that I could be on Femera. I fight everyday with a smile because I can. |
